We have a number of initiatives in the pipeline so watch this space for more news.

In the meanwhile do get in touch if you would like to work with us on a new initiative.

Latest Developments

National Support Service to Modernise Volunteering

Red Foundation was recently asked by national volunteer development agency Volunteering England, to join a partnership to promote a new agenda to modernise volunteering throughout the country. This programme of work, funded by Capacity Builders for 3 years from April 2008, will see Red focus on developing new ways to involve volunteers, including exploring the potential of social networks as a means to reach out to new volunteers and provide the means that can expand the capacity of volunteering organisations to engage with their volunteers. In addition we will be exploring how we can enable more effective peer recruitment, including developing a network of Volunteer Champions as recommended in the report produced by the Commission on the Future of Volunteering earlier this year.

The first year of this project will see Red Foundation undertake research and consultation with a range of stakeholders. If you have any experience or interest in working with social networks or peer led volunteering, and are keen to get involved, or are interested in running a small pilot project next year, then please do get in touch by using the form here.

We will also be posting updates and developments via our Red Foundation page on Facebook. This group is open for anyone with a Facebook profile and with an interest in volunteering to join.

i-volunteer is coming!

Red Foundation is looking to pilot i-volunteer, a new social networking type platform, that aims to provide a way for people from across the UK and the rest of the globe to volunteer and provide organisations with a new way to communicate with and support their volunteers. We are keen to hear from agencies that are interested in getting involved in this exciting new project and will be posting updates as and when they become available – in the meanwhile for more information please use the form here.
