Do you think that volunteering is in need of a makeover? Have your say at the National Volunteering Convention 23-25 April 2008
Social networks, speed dating, street teams, viral marketing, social entrepreneurship... what do these have to do with volunteering? As part of the National Support Service to Modernise Volunteering funded by Capacity Builders, Red Foundation is leading a three year project to find out how we can utilise these modern marketing and engagement techniques to work with and recruit volunteers and to look at ways in which these can be harnessed for use by the wider volunteering sector.
Our work kicks off in April and we’re running an interactive session at the National Volunteering Convention in Newcastle so that you can find out all about it and have your say. Have you run a speed networking event for volunteers? Do you use FaceBook to recruit and communicate with your volunteers? Then come along and share your experience, plus have some fun into the bargain! The session will be led Red directors Jamie Thomas, Georgina Watts and Chris Penberthy – we look forward to seeing you there.
