Fabia Bates

Director of Corporate Community Involvement

Fabia joined Red Foundation in 2008 and heads up our new redcci division. During her career, she has worked in the public, private and voluntary sectors. She has been a significant player in the field of Corporate Community Involvement (CCI) for the past 7 years. In particular she has focused on using a strategic approach to optimise the positive impact of business community partnerships to all those involved.

In her most recent position as Employee Volunteering Development Director for the national CSR charity Business in the Community she created a Task Force of senior Community Involvement practitioners in global companies to investigate and analyse the future of Employee Community Engagement. Prior to this Fabia was Chief Executive of BCConnections, the only national charity advising and training other charities on developing sustainable partnerships with the corporate sector. Involved in BCConnections since its inception in 2000, she was pivotal in ensuring that the organization achieved a profile and reputation well beyond its size.

Fabia also has international experience, having spent three years as Director of Volunteer Services at Jobs For Youth in Chicago. Providing strategic and operational management of the volunteer program, which incorporated over 250 professional volunteers, she also introduced the organization to in-kind donations, sponsorship and Pro Bono assistance from corporate supporters. In addition she was responsible for the creation of their interactive website. Fabia has an MBA from Loyola University Chicago.
