Colette Harrison

Volunteering Development Associate

Colette joined Red Foundation in 2008. She is Chair of Youth Action Network and has managed Millennium Volunteers projects since 2000; initially with Durham University Student Community Action and then developing CSV Action Durham Millennium Volunteers from its conception in 2001.

In partnership with County Durham PCT and New College Durham, Colette developed Fairground Arts in Health; a youth peer-led project promoting positive health messages holistically; using diverse art mediums; this initiative is now in its seventh year and has been celebrated as an example of Good Practice at national NHS conferences.

As a Trustee for several years with a Durham City youth homelessness project, Moving On, Colette was actively involved with staff recruitment and support and is currently coaching a Youth and Community MA student on placement with Moving On, on behalf of Durham University. Colette has volunteered on a wide range of youth projects since 1992; supporting young people with emotional and behavioural problems and language and literacy needs.

Colette offers consultancy support to voluntary and community organisations looking to develop and manage their volunteering programmes and projects and is passionate about developing effective partnerships to empower young people and enable youth action.
