Passionate About Community

Red Foundation is a social enterprise that supports and promotes social action and volunteerism.

We do this by providing development and capacity building services for the third and public sectors, harnessing the resources of the corporate sector to help communities, and by pioneering new ways of recruiting and involving volunteers - this includes launching i-volunteer, the UK’s first social network for volunteering. We are also a delivery partner for Modernising Volunteering, a three year Capacitybuilders funded initiative led by Volunteering England with v, CSV and the Nationwide Foundation.

New Social Media Training for Volunteer Centres and Volunteer Managers

Do you want to find new ways to communicate with the groups and organisations you work with?

Have you heard the term social media or read about Facebook and Twitter but not known how they could apply to your work supporting and developing local organisations and volunteer groups?

Social media can be used to strengthen how organisations reach volunteers or to help them to campaign more effectively. This is something many local support providers and volunteering organisations are not realising; potentially missing out on how it can support development of volunteer led projects and groups.

Workshops aimed at Development Workers and Staff in Local Support Organisations and Volunteer Centres which will answer these questions are being delivered by the NAVCA ICT Champions and Red Foundation as part of the Capacitybuilders' Modernising Volunteering and regional ICT work streams.

The workshops will be run between May and November 2010 in all regions and will help you to understand how to find new ways of effective communication and conversation with local groups. They will also give you the skills and knowledge to share how to use social media tools so your groups can be more effective in meeting their aims too.

Places for this full day workshop will cost £35 per person, for more information including dates and booking click here.
